As Steeler continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources Manager to support our employees, managers, and multi-state operations. This position is ideal for an HR professional who is comfortable balancing strategic responsibilities with the daily realities of payroll, benefits, compliance, recruiting, and employee relations.

What You’ll Do:

Lead daily HR operations and serve as the primary HR resource for employees and managers.
Manage full-cycle, multi-state payroll accurately, confidentially, and on schedule.
Administer employee benefit programs, including enrollments, changes, employee communications, and vendor coordination.
Use UKG for HRIS administration, payroll, timekeeping, reporting, and employee data management.
Support multi-state compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Advise managers on employee relations, performance management, attendance, corrective action, and company policies.
Conduct or support workplace investigations and recommend fair, consistent, and well-documented resolutions.
Manage recruiting, interviewing, offers, onboarding, and offboarding.
Maintain accurate personnel records and confidential employee information.
Coordinate leave administration, workers’ compensation, and return-to-work processes.
Review and update employee policies, procedures, job descriptions, and the employee handbook.
Prepare HR reports and identify opportunities to improve processes, compliance, communication, and employee retention.
Partner with leadership and operations teams to support a safe, respectful, and productive workplace.

Required Qualifications

At least three years of progressive HR generalist or HR management experience.
Hands-on experience managing payroll and benefits administration.
Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
Experience handling employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work on-site at our Seattle location.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting employees in multiple states.
Experience using UKG Ready, UKG Pro, or related UKG modules.
Experience in construction, manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, or another operations-focused environment.
Experience with recruiting and interviewing for hourly and salaried positions.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Steeler Inc. offers a salary range of $85,000 per year, depending on relevant experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
