Full Job Description

Seeking an experienced personal chef to join our team.

Hi. We're Mazzeh, a small, growing team of chefs curated by lead chef Shayda Bahrami. We wanted something better than the usual two options: going solo with a handful of clients, or working for someone who runs you ragged and calls it a job. So we built something different. We're still early, just a few of us right now, but we're growing this on purpose, one good chef at a time.

Here's the real question. When you're not on the clock, are you still thinking about food? Trying a new technique on your night off, geeking out over some ingredient you just found? If that sounds like you, keep reading. That's who we're building this for and the type of chef we want to hire for this positon.

What you bring:

Solid restaurant experience, fine dining especially — 5+ years in fine dining and/or private/personal chef work
Experience preparing Dominican or Iranian cuisine is a big plus
A personality that fits a small team: coachable, open to feedback, personable, and sharp enough to be independent, discreet and professional in someone's home
The ability to manage multiple courses, dietary restrictions, and a full service flow without losing your cool
A kitchen you leave cleaner than you found it

What you'll actually be doing:

Grocery shopping and full menu execution
Preparing and serving meals — plated, family-style, or prepped ahead
Managing multiple courses and guest dietary needs
Keeping a clean, organized kitchen at all times
Bringing a professional, client-facing presence into someone's home

A few more details:

Primarily solo work, with occasional team-based events
Hands-on training to get you up to speed
Final candidates will have a paid working interview before mutual commitment
