Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst serves as key financial partner by supporting current and strategic financial planning and providing financial and business acumen to a growing organization. The Senior Financial Analyst helps operational and senior leaders make informed financial decisions, provide insights into business operations performance, and drive cost structure and allocation improvements. Working closely with operational and financial leaders, the Senior Financial Analyst will help assess the impact of financial decisions, with special emphasis on the financial outcome of grant funded programs. They will guide key financial planning and analysis processes, including the financial elements of annual federal regulatory reporting.
Compensation is dependent on skills and experience.
Your contribution to the team includes:
- Coordinate the process and contribute to preparing the annual budget and quarterly forecasts in conjunction with the team of financial analysts.
- Analyze financial statements, including revenue and expense, balance sheet, and cash flow statements for operating units and the organization.
- Identify financial trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement through analysis and modeling.
- Compile and analyze pre-award grant budgets and analyze budget to actual results with fund development, program stakeholders, and the grants management team.
- Communicate through written narratives, visualizations, and conversation financial results to internal stakeholders, including senior leaders.
- Compile, interpret, and prepare data and analyses from a variety of data sources to present results and recommendations to senior leaders.
- Prepare ad hoc financial models incorporating a variety of data sources from disparate systems.
- Coordinate and prepare financial reporting components of annual regulatory reports to the Health Care Authority and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
- Administer the financial planning and analysis system and related internal controls.
- Maintain good attendance, is punctual and works full scheduled shift is a condition of employment.

- Support developing a treasury management within the financial planning and analysis team.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of a new financial planning and analysis system, including supporting stakeholder adoption and use.
- Support the process to renew the organization’s annual risk management policies.
- Attend staff meetings, in-service meetings and participate in agency committees and task force activities as required.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Must have’s you’ll need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, four (4) to six (6) years of relevant experience in financial analysis and budgeting, and two (2) years of experience working with grants or government contracts, or equivalent combination of education and experience. OR
- Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or analytical field such as Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science a plus. Two plus (2+) years’ experience working in a structured program such as public accounting in audit or consulting beneficial, as well as not-for-profit and healthcare industry experience.
- Demonstrated operating knowledge of financial planning systems and strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), management accounting, economic concepts, and financial analyses required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common industry related journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write reports and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, clients, external groups, and/or boards of directors.
- The ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction. Constructive thinking and alternative short-to long term solutions must be considered. Action plans must be developed and implemented.
- Knowledge of computer equipment and Microsoft suite required. Advanced knowledge in Excel and strong proficiency factoring and analyzing data from disparate systems.
- CPA, CFA, or CGMA certification not required but highly desirable.

Additionally, if you work in a HealthPoint clinic, Tdap (within last 10 years) is required. Hepatitis B. is required for clinical employees with potential exposure to blood/blood products. All immunizations are a condition of employment. Upon hire, employees must provide proof of their immunizations and/or immune titer results prior to starting or no later than their fifth (5) business day of employment.

If you receive vaccination(s) or lab titers, you may obtain them through HealthPoint at no cost to you.
