Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced soft tissue, orthopedic, oncologic, emergency, and minimally invasive surgical procedures.
- Diagnose and manage complex surgical cases using evidence-based veterinary medicine.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans for referral and emergency patients.
- Utilize advanced imaging, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, and digital radiography.
- Provide exceptional patient care before, during, and after surgery.
- Collaborate with emergency clinicians and veterinary specialists to achieve the best patient outcomes.
- Communicate treatment options, surgical recommendations, and aftercare plans with pet owners.
- Maintain accurate medical records and uphold the highest standards of patient safety.
- Support and mentor veterinary technicians, interns, and residents where appropriate.
Candidate Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent veterinary degree.
- Board Certified, or Residency-Trained and Board-Eligible, in Veterinary Surgery.
- Eligible for veterinary licensure in Alaska.
- Experience performing advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgical procedures.
- Excellent clinical decision-making and surgical skills.
- Strong communication and client relationship abilities.
- Passion for delivering high-quality veterinary care.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
