Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Employment & Education Specialist to join our Community Mental Health team at Chrysalis, Inc. This role is vital in empowering individuals with diverse backgrounds, including those with persistent social, substance use, and mental health challenges, to achieve their employment and educational goals. The ideal candidate will be flexible, energetic, motivated, and dedicated to fostering workforce development within culturally diverse and underserved communities. You will serve as a key connector—providing mentorship, coaching, and tailored support to help clients overcome barriers and succeed in their personal and professional lives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference while advancing your career in social services and vocational workforce development.

Responsibilities

Develop personalized employment and education plans for participants based on their skills, interests, and needs.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to enhance participant’s job readiness, interview skills, resume writing, and workplace communication.
Conduct outreach and recruitment activities to engage community members from underserved populations.
Collaborate with local employers, training providers, and community organizations to create pathways for employment and educational opportunities.
Maintain detailed case management records, track participant progress, and prepare reports on program outcomes.
Facilitate learning opportunities on topics such as disability rights, workplace accommodations, and social skills development.
Advocate for participants’ needs by working within employment law frameworks and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

Proven experience working with individuals with persistent mental health challenges, substance use or other social-emotional challenges.
Strong knowledge of employment & labor law as it pertains to social services and disability rights.
Experience working with culturally diverse communities and underserved populations.
Demonstrated skills in coaching, mentoring, training & development, and participant communication.
Strong Proficiency with technology including Google Workspace for written communications, documentation and reporting purposes.
Excellent interviewing and case management skills to assess participant needs effectively.
Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team environment out in the community
Background in social work or related fields such as counseling or workforce development is highly desirable.
