Full Job Description

*****$18 - $20 per hour starting hourly based on experience*****

This job is four 10 hour shifts.

Monday through Thursday, 5AM to 3:30PM

Border Concepts is a leading manufacturer of artisan steel products known for its commitment to quality and precision in metal fabrication. We take pride in delivering top-notch products to our clients. We are currently seeking a skilled Welder to join our dynamic team.

As a Welder at Border Concepts, you will be responsible for producing high-quality welds on individual metal components or sections. Your expertise in welding techniques, attention to detail, and commitment to precision will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest industry standards.

Responsibilities

Welding Operations: Perform welding tasks using various techniques, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding, to join metal pieces according to blueprints, drawings, or specific instructions. Using Acetylene/Oxy Torch for cutting and pre-heating metal.

Assembly and Fitment: Ensure accurate alignment and fitment of metal components prior to welding, using jigs, clamps, and other appropriate tools.

Material Preparation: Clean, grind, and prepare surfaces to be welded, removing any contaminants or impurities that may affect the quality of the weld.

Quality Assurance: Conduct visual inspections of completed welds to verify they meet specified standards for strength, appearance, and dimensions. Take pride in workmanship & the finished products.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of materials used, time spent on each project, and any other relevant data for tracking and reporting purposes.

Problem-Solving: Identify and address any technical challenges or discrepancies encountered during the welding process, consulting with supervisors or engineering staff when necessary.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a welder, specializing in piece welding techniques.

Proficiency in MIG welding processes.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.

Strong understanding of metal properties, welding procedures, and safety protocols.

Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality workmanship.

Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team, depending on project requirements.

Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Good attendance habits are mandatory.
