The Division of Gynecologic Oncology in the Department of OB/GYN at BIDMC is looking for a hard-working, compassionate, positive individual to fill an essential role. Gynecologic Oncology provides surgical care to patients with known or suspected gynecologic cancer. The Clinical Nurse is an integral part of the care team.
Gynecologic Oncology functions as a team to provide patients with the best possible care. Candidates must value serving as part of a team and be willing to learn about and participate in the coordination of patient care. The nurse will work closely with the surgeon, as well as administrative staff to ensure timeliness of patient follow up and continuity of care. Responsibilities will include the review of new patient referrals, pre- and post-operative patient education, telephone triage, and clinic visits. These may include staple removals, voiding trials, wound checks and injections, among other nursing responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have and have 1-3 plus years of relevant RN experience in gynecologic or general surgery, oncology, and/or women’s health. Excellent clinical judgement, strong organizational skills, positive team-oriented attitude, and the desire to participate in the care of women with cancer are essential.

Provides direct care to patients and makes necessary nursing judgments. Responsible for systematically assessing the health care needs of individuals or groups and for the formulation of a care plan, its implementation and evaluation. Coordinates the care of patients and directs assistive personnel in order to provide safe, effective, efficient, equitable and timely, patient-centered care. Maintains annual mandatory education requirements, which include emergency skills and unit based competencies. Pay Range:
$38.00 – $98.19
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
