Full Job Description

The Opportunity

Are you passionate about people, process, and making a positive impact? The City of Mequon is seeking a collaborative and detail oriented Human Resources Coordinator to play a vital role in our organization. In this full-time position, you’ll be the welcoming face of HR and a key partner in ensuring a supportive and efficient workplace for City employees across all departments. From recruiting top talent to coordinating benefits and supporting employee wellness, this is a role that makes a real difference in the daily lives of City employees.

What You’ll Do

Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR inquiries.
Coordinate and support the complete recruitment and onboarding process for new employees.
Administer payroll changes and coordinate with the Finance Department on bi-weekly payroll processing.
Administer employee benefits programs and provide guidance to staff.
Ensure compliance with HR laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Maintain accurate HR databases and personnel files.
Oversee the City’s workplace safety initiatives.
Contribute to special projects that promote innovation, inclusion, and organizational growth.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a motivated professional with an Associate degree or applicable certifications in Human Resources with a minimum of 1 year of experience. A Bachelor degree is preferred. Equivalent combinations of training and experience may contribute toward the mastery of the above. A team-oriented mindset and passion for service are key to success in this role.

Benefits Available To You

Starting salary: $61,998 - $66,647 +/-, DOQ. Current salary range: $61,998 - $83,698. The City offers a competitive benefits package includes:

Work Hours
