Full Job Description

Affinity Credit Union, based in Des Moines, IA is a growing full service financial intuition with the mission of “Building Better Lives”. Affinity serves nearly 14,000 members with a focus on supporting the financial wellbeing of members and enhancing communities. Affinity Credit Union has been voted a Top Workplace by the Des Moines Register.

The Position: We are looking for a Branch Manager to support the day-to-day operations of the branch by providing leadership, coaching and supervision to front line and lending staff. This position will require enthusiasm, optimism, collaboration, community/industry involvement, business development skills & the ability to perform on an everyday and strategic level. Additional responsibilities include oversite of branch deposit and loan portfolios, as well as growth objectives relating to the retention of current members and recruitment of future members.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum3-5 years of financial industry related and/or leadership experience

Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate and influence others to identify potential and achieve goals is a material part of the job; requiring a high level of communication, collaboration, diplomacy and trust.

Other Skills: Supervisory, leadership, written and verbal communications, technology and compliance.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Oversee day to day management of the credit union branch. This includes efficient branch operations, sound business practices, safety, and high-quality service for members.
Maintain and motivate sales and service staff to support growth, retention, and profitability goals, while also ensuring regulatory and compliance standards are being met.
Monitor branch activity including transactions, sales, and productions results.
Utilize problems solving skills & coaching tactics to navigate crucial conversations.
Collaborate in cross-company initiatives to ensure the success of the organization as a whole.
Possess expertise in offering top level member service and ability to coach others to do the same.
Execute position specific training to improve employee performance, including product and service referrals. Develop employees in areas of interest to advance their career.
Assist in hiring of team members, conduct reviews, create schedules, monitor work of branch personnel, allocate resources to meet operational needs, & oversee department recommendations from team members.
Review and approve underwriting decisions when needed.
Maintain consistent communication with management team, prepare and submit management reports, & attend management meetings as required.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
