Full Job Description

Position Title:

Relocation Specialist

Company Information:

The SOS Crew are Certified Relocation & Transition Specialists and Independent Living Specialists. We assist individuals and families with moving from one home to another. Special training is focused on seniors and downsizing.

Report To: Lead SOS Crew on-site

Overall Responsibilities:

Moving, packing, wrapping and transporting household goods for residential & commercial customers. Represent the company in a professional manner while ensuring a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

· Load and unload vehicles/moving van by hand or by use of hand truck or dolly.

· Wrap furniture and fragile items with blankets to prevent damage.

· Pad, stack and secure items in position on the truck to prevent damage during transport.

· Some packing and unpacking may be required.

· Assist the move managers with organizing boxes and furniture after unloading.

· Remove packing materials and load them on the truck. Unload packing materials at storage location.

· Performs work and duties within specifications of the estimated hours

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Term of Employment: Part-time – 15-25 hours per week on average

Qualifications:

· Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients possessing various backgrounds and communication skills.

· Must possess an understanding of age related illnesses- such as memory disease, visual and hearing impairments and other behavioral and mental health issues.

· Must possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility and a commitment to the clients end goal.

· Ability to follow detailed directions as it pertains to organizing and/or moving.

· Ability to provide services within the clients’ home

· Excellent listening, decision-making and problem-solving skills

· Consistently punctual and prepared to work.

· Must refrain from using cell phone while on the job.

· Must wear clean jeans and SOS t-shirt – no slacks or shirts with holes or stains

Requirements:

· Must review, sign and adhere to industry Standards and Ethics – provided.

· Must have reliable means of transportation.

· Must be able to lift 40 pounds.

· Must pass a Federal background check.

Location: SOS provides professional organizing and moving assistance to residence of Tippecanoe, Benton, Carroll, Clinton, Warren and White Counties. On occasion, SOS may accept a client/job just outside of our 6-county service area. All services are provided in the clients’ home and senior community.

Moving services may require travel between the clients’ home and the clients’ future residence.
