About the Role
Nussbaumer & Clarke, Inc. has built a strong legacy of land development work across Western New York, and we're looking for an experienced Site Civil Engineer to join our team and help carry that legacy forward. This is an opportunity to be part of a firm with deep roots and a proven track record in the region, shaping projects that contribute to the continued growth of the communities we serve. This role will lead and support the design of residential, commercial, and mixed-use site development projects, from conceptual planning through construction. In addition to private land development work, the candidate will also be involved in municipal projects, such as roadway, drainage, water/sewer infrastructure, and public site improvements to support the local municipalities we service. We're looking for a hands-on engineer who can manage projects independently, mentor junior staff, and work closely with clients, municipalities, and contractors to successfully bring projects from concept to completion.
This position is primarily in-office, combining day-to-day collaboration with our team and field visits to project sites across Western New York, with some hybrid/remote flexibility available.

- Coordinate and prepare submittals for municipal planning boards, zoning boards, and regulatory agencies
- Attend and present project applications at planning boards, zoning boards, and other municipal meetings
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including scheduling, budgeting, and client communication
- Conduct site visits and construction observation to verify compliance with approved plans
- Collaborate with surveyors, geotechnical engineers, landscape architects, and other consultants
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and CAD staff
- Support business development efforts, including client relationships and proposal preparation
