Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Labor/Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, assisting with excavation and utility work, and maintaining construction equipment to ensure smooth project progress. Your expertise in construction machinery, safety procedures, and utility locating will be vital in delivering quality results on time and within safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects while honing your skills in heavy equipment operation and construction site management.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and water trucks to perform excavation, grading, and utility installation tasks.
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
Assist with construction utility work, including utility locating, trenching, and installation activities.
Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe work environment.
Support construction site activities by performing general labor tasks, including site clearing, material handling, and debris removal.
Collaborate with team members to execute project plans efficiently while adhering to safety standards and project timelines.
Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance logs, and safety inspections for accountability.

Qualifications

Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, or water trucks.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with construction utility work, including utility locating and excavation techniques.
Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and adherence to safety regulations during all operations.
Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving preferred.
Construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with grading, utility installation, and general construction activities.
Ability to operate Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
Mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining construction machinery is highly desirable.
