Full Job Description

Montgomery Township is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Secretary to join our Parks and Recreation Department. This role provides essential clerical and administrative support and serves as the primary point of contact for visitors and residents. Key responsibilities include managing the front desk, greeting visitors, and direct incoming calls; as well; assisting with registrations, summer camp hiring and newsletter coordination. Hours are Monday – Friday/8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Salary starting at $20.28 per hour, commensurate with experience. Interested candidates, please submit your resume to [email protected] EOE

General Statement of Position:

This position provides clerical and administrative support for the Parks and Recreation and Open Space Departments

Job Duties / Responsibilities:

Assists Recreation Director and Assistant Director with registration, billing and collections for Recreation Programs

Assists with facility reservations for all Township Parks and the Otto Kaufman Community Center and field spaces

Assist with keeping Community Pass current each season for residents to register for programs

Assists Assistant Director and Director with all social media accounts for the Parks and Recreation Department and markets Recreation programs utilizing flyers and Constant Contact/Canva

Assists with the updating and creating of seasonal newsletters

Assists the Assistant Director with hiring staff for summer camp staff

Provides Finance Department with daily transmittal deposits, balances monthly and year-end reports

Processes all refunds for Parks and Recreation Department

Greets and assists residents arriving at the Otto Kaufman Community Center

Manages incoming calls and department communications

Orders office supplies for Parks, Recreation and Open Space Departments; helps maintain inventory

Miscellaneous duties as directed

Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in the English language. Vision and hearing adequate to perform essential functions of the position.

Additional Requirements:

Effective 9/1/11, all employees of State and local government must reside in the State of NJ, unless exempted.
Must have a valid NJ Driver’s License.
