Our products are engineered and manufactured primarily in-house using aluminum-frame construction, powder-coated finishes, and upholstered elements. Our manufacturing capabilities include aluminum extrusion processing, laser cutting, welding and fixture fabrication, CNC routing, and other advanced production processes.
We are seeking a talented and innovative 3D SolidWorks Product Design Engineer to join our team and help develop high-quality, functional, and aesthetically distinctive outdoor furniture and living products.
This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and technically minded professional who enjoys taking a product from concept and 3D modeling through engineering, detailed documentation, and manufacturing.
Position Summary
The Product Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, engineering, and documenting new and existing outdoor furniture and related products.
The ideal candidate combines strong SolidWorks and mechanical engineering skills with creativity, attention to detail, and a practical understanding of manufacturing and fabrication.
You will work closely with our production, engineering, sales, and marketing teams to transform concepts and customer requirements into products that are structurally sound, manufacturable, cost-effective, and visually appealing.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new and existing outdoor furniture and related products using SolidWorks.
- Conceptualize products while balancing aesthetics, functionality, structural integrity, manufacturability, and cost.
- Create accurate 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles as appropriate for precision manufacturing.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), cut sheets, cost sheets, and other manufacturing documentation.
- Create product renderings and visual presentations using SolidWorks and, when appropriate, Autodesk Revit, SketchUp, or AutoCAD.
- Collaborate directly with production and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and cost-effective to manufacture.
- Apply mechanical engineering principles to evaluate and improve product strength, durability, stability, and performance.
- Select appropriate materials and components based on design requirements, performance, durability, and manufacturing considerations.
- Interpret architectural drawings, customer specifications, sketches, and other technical documentation.
- Prepare and upload appropriate CAD files, including STEP files, for fabrication machinery and manufacturing operations.
- Work with manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot design and production issues and implement effective engineering solutions.
- Serve as a technical liaison between the design, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
- Verify the mechanical integrity and manufacturability of furniture designs before production.
- Support the development of prototypes, revisions, and production-ready designs.
- Participate in hands-on training and gain familiarity with manufacturing equipment and processes requiring CAD/STEP files.
- Research and stay current with relevant materials, manufacturing technologies, design trends, and fabrication techniques.
- Work with sales and marketing teams to understand customer requirements and incorporate appropriate feedback into product development.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting established deadlines.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional SolidWorks experience in a manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or product design environment.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and 3D CAD modeling.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD; experience with Revit or SketchUp is a plus.
- Experience creating detailed manufacturing drawings, assemblies, BOMs, cut sheets, and related technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and fabrication techniques.
- Knowledge of materials, particularly ialuminum, metals, and other materials commonly used in outdoor products, is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, technical drawings, customer specifications, and measurements.
- Understanding of mechanical design principles, structural integrity, durability, and manufacturability.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with production and management teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Creative mindset with a passion for product design, engineering, and innovation
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required

This is a fully on-site position at our manufacturing facility in Miami, Florida (33167).
Candidates must be able to reliably work on-site Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
Relocation: Candidates who are not currently located in the Miami area must be willing to relocate before beginning employment.
