Job description:

Accounts Payable Clerk - Job Summary

This office position requires excellent organization, communication, and leadership and time management skills, as well as the ability to multitask. This position involves detailed data input and a high degree of accuracy.

The ideal candidate for this position should have significant experience with various software programs including MS Word, Excel, and Quick books. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be proficient in the use of email, texting, voicemail, and the operation of standard office equipment.

This clerk will work in a casual but professional office setting along with 4-5 other office personnel. The position is in Ocean Springs (Sunplex Industrial Park) and will require 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday).

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Clerk to be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
Verify and investigate discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
Generate reports detailing accounts payable status.

Requirements and skills:

Proven working experience as Accounts Payable Clerk
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
Hands on experience with spreadsheets and software.
Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Assist management with project as necessary for the finance organization.
Processing bulk invoices.
Maintaining and reconciling purchases and sales ledger accounts.
Daily maintenance of account systems.
Reconciliation of bank accounts.
Preparing bills, invoices, and bank deposits.
