Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled 1st Cutter/Assistant Meat Manager to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring the efficient processing and preparation of high-quality meat products while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production, meat cutting, and food handling, with a passion for culinary excellence and team leadership. This position offers an opportunity to grow within the food industry, contributing to a reputable establishment committed to quality and service.

Duties

Perform precise meat cutting and trimming using professional knife skills and equipment
Assist in managing daily meat department operations, including inventory control and product ordering
Prepare and package meat products according to safety standards and customer specifications
Ensure all food handling procedures comply with food safety regulations and sanitation standards
Support the meat department team in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety protocols
Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product selection and answering inquiries
Collaborate with the Meat Manager to oversee product quality, presentation, and freshness
Contribute to training new team members on proper meat cutting techniques and safety procedures

Experience

Proven experience in food production, particularly in meat cutting or butchery, is highly preferred
Strong knowledge of food preparation, packaging, and food safety standards within the food industry
Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is advantageous, especially with culinary techniques involving knife skills and meat handling
Familiarity with food industry regulations related to hygiene, sanitation, and safety practices
Experience in customer service roles within retail or food service environments is a plus
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
