Full Job Description

About Vinoshipper We are an e-commerce platform for the wine, cider, sake, and mead industries. Providing prompt, excellent, expert support and service to our clients and customers is one of the foundations on which the success of our company is built.

About the team While primarily working from home, our team environment is highly collaborative and supportive. The accounting department is small and we work closely together, and across other departments, to maintain accuracy and increase efficiency.

About the role We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented person to fill a full-time hybrid Staff Accountant position. In this role, you will take ownership of core accounting functions: processing invoices, auditing accounts payable, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements. You should also be comfortable communicating with our clients and vendors by email and telephone. This role calls for someone who works independently with strong time management and handles sensitive financial information with integrity and discretion. We’re looking for an inquisitive problem solver who can learn our constantly changing platform and enjoys an ever-evolving workflow.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm PST

Work from our office in Windsor, CA one day per week (typically Wednesday)

Requirements:

· A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.

· 3+ years of accounting experience, including managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, and reconciling balance sheet accounts.

· A keen eye for detail and a knack for spotting patterns and outliers in data.

· Working knowledge of GAAP and experience assisting with the preparation of financial statements.

· Experience with QuickBooks Online and other accounting software.

· High proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and XLOOKUP.

· Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and/or remotely, with strong time management and the discipline to manage multiple areas accurately.

· Strong personal integrity and a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

· Comfortable with leveraging AI tools and building out our AI use.

· Excellent communication skills; patient, kind, and an open communicator.

· Willingness to participate in on-the-job training. Be willing to learn and grow from mistakes and be flexible with software that is evolving.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods while working at a computer workstation.

· Frequent use of hands and fingers for keyboarding, data entry, and operation of office equipment.

· Ability to occasionally bend, reach, squat, and lift up to 40 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

· Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
