Miller Architects & Builders is seeking an experienced, hands-on Construction Superintendent to oversee commercial and multi-family construction projects throughout Minnesota and the surrounding region.
This is a working superintendent position—not a management-only role. You'll lead projects from the field while also performing carpentry and construction tasks when needed. This is not a traditional office-based superintendent position. We are looking for a hands-on Construction Superintendent who enjoys being actively involved in the work—not someone who only manages from the sidelines.

Job Description
We are seeking a Construction Superintendent to join our team! You would be overseeing both commercial and multi-housing construction projects from start to finish. You would be creating the schedules, overseeing the Subcontractors, safety, quality control, documentation and working with the Project Manager.
- MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL 75% of more of the time, including out of state.
- Must be willing to perform carpentry and other construction duties as needed, not just supervising rather working Construction Superintendent.
- Study the drawings and specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion time and staffing requirements for each phase of construction
- Review each subcontractors work to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
- Produce weekly schedules and schedule each subcontractors work far enough in advance to give them time to perform and to complete the project on schedule
- Enforcement of quality control is the first priority on the project, inspecting work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications
- Record all daily happenings from Subcontractors completed work, photos, phone calls, deliveries and visitors.
- Check all delivered materials for defects and quantities prior to signing any delivery tickets
- Purchase materials as directed by the Project Manager, who you will work closely with throughout the duration of the project.
- Notify subcontractors verbally of unsafe acts or situations and follow it up in writing on the specified form
- Monitor all personnel on the jobsite
- Company vehicle, phone, ipad, clothing allowance and company tools are provided.
- Required to travel overnight on a weekly basis, when your job is over 100 miles from our shop.
- Per Diem for overnight stays
