Job Title: Accounting Supervisor

Location: Rural Hall, NC (Onsite)

Duration: Direct Hire

Salary Range: $75K – $95K/annum

Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to oversee daily accounting operations and lead the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with GAAP, strengthening internal controls, and supporting month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong leadership experience, advanced Excel skills, ERP system knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and mentor Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff, including performance management.
Manage daily accounting operations while ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Oversee cash receipts, check runs, ACH, wire transfers, credit card transactions, payroll postings, and general ledger activities.
Perform bank reconciliations and major account reconciliations.
Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and account variance analyses.
Maintain fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
Prepare monthly sales tax filings and other regulatory compliance reports.
Assist with annual financial reviews and external audits.
Ensure complete and accurate documentation for all financial transactions.
Develop, monitor, and improve internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial processes.
Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
Support special financial reporting and management requests.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
7–10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
Minimum 5 years of direct supervisory experience managing accounting staff.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
Experience with ERP systems.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, advanced formulas, charts, and large data analysis.
Experience with general ledger, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, payroll postings, and month-end close.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
CPA or advanced accounting certification is a plus.
