Job Description
A day in the life of a Travel Estimating Property Adjuster:

Review and comply with all individual State requirements that you are working in, regarding any fire escrow or settlement/depreciation requirements.
- Travel to loss sites and conduct thorough inspections of properties with policy holders, Public Adjusters or contractors.

Assign Origin and Cause inspectors or Engineers as needed.
- Align with Subrogation Advocates, Special Investigation Unit Adjusters to obtain the needed information for processing.

Write accurate estimates utilizing Xactimate to capture the extent of damage according to policy interpretation.
-
Accurately adjust the reserves throughout the claim handling process.
-
Settle claims promptly and fairly, adhering to customer policies.
-
Utilize advanced video technology for remote collaboration and estimating.
-
Review policies to determine coverage and provide detailed explanations to customers.
-
Communicate empathetically with customers, guiding them through the claim process.
-
Negotiate claim settlements in accordance with established methodologies.
-
Work in various environments, including independent and team settings, and virtual platforms.

Handle claims, collaborate with vendors, collaborate with other Allstate adjusters when needed and communicate with customers keeping them informed throughout the process.

Participate in online meetings and trainings, being on camera as required.

Handle daily tasks with policy holders or internal communications timely.

The Investigator – you’ll confidently and independently investigate property claims by performing detailed reviews of damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage.

The Effective Communicator – you’ll use phone, emails, text and sometimes even video chat with customers to help them through a fast, fair, and easy claims process. You’ll also incorporate a specific approach to claim handling to offer the customer their preference of communication to efficiently discuss their claim needs and keep them updated on the claim progress.

The Negotiator – You will evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, Public Adjusters, third party carriers and claimants, in accordance with all legal and business standard methodologies. With negotiations, you will incorporate tactics in handling challenging and complex situations.

The Problem Solver –you’ll utilize multiple tools to get the job done in a fast-paced environment, including estimate tools, job aids, and additional settlement platforms, all while using your sharp critical thinking skills.

The Recorder – you’ll protect the company financially by executing policies along policy agreements, and you keep a clear record of your work in a claims system that you will be trained on. You’ll accomplish this by ensuring timely and accurate documentation is completed as you work on each claim.
Schedule:
-
During training, work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

After training, work 10 days on 4 days off working 8 - 12 hours/day.
- This field position requires up to 90% travel out of town.

Required to attend 2-week training program in Dallas, Tx.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Residence within the Eastern Time Zone is required.

4-6+ years of experience writing fire & water damage estimates preferred.

Experience of handling large loss claims.
-
Previous experience as a property adjuster.

Proficiency in estimating software like Xactimate preferred.

Strong focus on providing exceptional customer service.
-
Ability to work independently, starting from home, includes travel to different locations east of the Mississippi River.

Proactive problem-solving skills and a positive attitude toward challenges.

Excellent organization and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.

Exceptional desk management skills.

Construction background preferred with knowledge of residential building methods.
Required Qualifications:

Maintain Continuing Education Requirements for licensing.

Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as part of the job requirements.

Must reside within 50 miles of any major airport.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
As a condition of employment, your office/area may require you to obtain an adjuster and/or an appraiser license which includes passing an additional background check with the Department of Labor. If applicable, you will be required to secure license(s) within 60 days of hire.
If required, the Hiring Manager will work with you along with the Centralized Licensing team to ensure that you are properly licensed.
Notice of Licensing Requirement:
As a requirement of employment, individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment.
Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team. By proceeding with the application process, applicants acknowledge and accept these licensing requirements and agree to comply.

You may be eligible for a $1,000 Licensing Sign on Bonus if you have the applicable active licenses needed for this role. This could include Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designated Home State (DHS) Florida or Texas License, and/or applicable Appraiser License.
- Current employees or candidates who have previously worked for Allstate, including its family of companies, are not eligible for this sign-on bonus.
Company Car:
This role would qualify for the use of rental cars when the deployment requires transportation. You may be required to use your personal vehicle until these guidelines are met. We offer mileage reimbursements for personal vehicle usage during work.

Compensation
Compensation for this role ranges from $68,500 to $117,700 annually and is based on experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
