Job Description
Our mission is to provide community-based, full-service health care of the highest quality with respect and dignity for all people including the underserved and uninsured. We are looking for a candidate to serve as a pharmacy driver and pharmacy technician at our pharmacy who will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of medications to customers as well as capturing proof of delivery all in a compliant manner.
This role will include carrying out the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including filling prescriptions, coordinating prescription delivery, and resolving insurance claim rejections. The ideal candidate will also help process prior authorizations, pursue patient assistance programs, and foundational assistance programs to assure all patients receive affordable care. The ideal candidate will also develop trusting relationships with patients and adapt to the patient's unique needs in order to remove barriers to care.
Responsibilities: Specific duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Entering new prescription orders and refill requests for patients
- Filling and labeling medications
- Facilitating delivery of medications to patients as needed
- Processing insurance claims and resolve insurance claim rejections
- Receiving and processing prior authorization requests as needed for patients.
- Ordering inventory from drug wholesalers
- Maintaining pharmacy records as required by the board of pharmacy and other regulatory bodies
- Building strong working relationships with the community, stakeholders, and clinic partners to meet all required needs of the clinic as well as the community
- Following-up with patients via phone calls or text messages to facilitate prescription filling and adherence
- Communicating in a manner that protects patient privacy
- Advocating for patients and provide patient-centric pharmacy services.
- Interacting with customers and co-workers professionally and appropriately
- Capturing signatures when needed for deliveries, maintaining safe keeping of records and delivering to pharmacy in a timely manner
- Ensuring that vehicle is maintained properly, i.e., working brakes, controls, tire pressure, and fuel on a daily basis

- Taking direction from the pharmacist-in-charge or pharmacist on duty
- Complying with pharmacy policies
- Understanding confidentiality with respect to patient/ client care; complying with all federal and state laws applicable to the confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (EPHI); and following HIPAA guidelines regarding readily identifiable protected health information
- Delivering patient medications and directing all pharmacy related questions/concerns back to the pharmacist
Skills and Specifications:
- Ability to secure provisional or pharmacy technician trainee license (state specific)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Punctual
- Excellent driving and parking skills
- Organized and able to keep records
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Have access to a vehicle
- Have proof of valid insurance
- Ability to effectively read and interpret maps
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
- Have no moving violations within the past two years
- Have no serious traffic offenses
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician license from the Florida State Board of Pharmacy
- 1 year of experience working within a retail or clinic setting
- Prior experience working in a 340B pharmacy would be great but not required
- Previous experience working with BestRx system

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
