Full Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Custom Fabricator at EXPO, you’ll build custom components for trade show exhibits, furniture, displays, dimensional logos, signage and other specialty projects, with a focus on integrating low-voltage LED lighting.

This is a hands-on shop position involving both fabrication and LED installation. Work will include building and modifying components as needed to incorporate lighting, installing LEDs, running wiring, mounting power supplies, making connections and hookups, and testing completed assemblies.

Every project is different. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable building and working with different materials while also having a strong understanding of low-voltage LED lighting.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

· Experience installing and wiring low-voltage LED lighting.

· General fabrication and construction skills.

· Ability to work with plywood, plastics, acrylic, aluminum and other common fabrication materials.

· Ability to use hand tools, power tools and woodworking equipment.

· Experience with LED modules, LED strips, power supplies, dimmers, connectors and related components.

· Ability to run, terminate and connect low-voltage wiring.

· Ability to make clean, reliable electrical connections and hookups.

· Understanding of voltage, wattage, amperage and circuit load requirements for LED lighting.

· Ability to properly size and connect power supplies based on LED loads.

· Basic understanding of wire sizing and voltage drop.

· Ability to troubleshoot LED lighting, wiring and connections.

· Ability to read and understand build drawings and basic wiring layouts.

· Communicate clearly and concisely with other employees and supervisors.

APPLICANTS WITH THE FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE WILL BE GIVEN SPECIAL CONSIDERATION:

· Custom furniture, cabinetry or exhibit fabrication.

· Illuminated dimensional signs and logos.

· Sign shop or scenic fabrication experience.

· Soldering and low-voltage electrical connections.

· Construction methods specific to the exhibit industry.

· Knowledge of modular beMatrix display systems or similar.

· CNC operation or integration with fabrication techniques.

· Welding, aluminum and steel fabrication.

· Forklift operator experience.

· Ability to communicate in Spanish.

ADDITIONAL INFO

· Type: Full-time/Hourly. M-F, 7 am to 3:30 pm. Overtime during peak periods.

· Starting pay: $26 to $30 based upon experience.
