Job Overview

Join our dynamic Bay-Lakes Council, Scouting America team as a Scoutreach Program Coordinator/AmeriCorps Community Corps Associate, where you will play a vital role in empowering underserved communities through outreach, education, and collaboration. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership skills while making a meaningful impact on public health and community well-being. You will serve as a bridge between community members and vital resources, fostering engagement and promoting positive change through grassroots organizing, program development, and community outreach initiatives.

Responsibilities

o Membership support and recruitment assistance for existing Scouting programs.

o Lead and support the implementation of new Scoutreach programs at Boys & Girls Clubs in Oshkosh, Omro, and Winneconne. Develop and deliver engaging monthly programming that provides high-quality after-school experiences for youth.

o Lead and support our new Adventure Club program.

o Support units with our new Chipmunk 4K program, when needed.

o Support our Scouting programs through development of relationships with religious, civic, fraternal, educational, and other community-based organizations.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience in volunteer management, supervising teams or groups in community settings.
Strong public speaking skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences.
Experience in program development, project management, or grassroots community organizing.
Proficiency in social media management, marketing strategies, and data collection tools.
Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse communities and individuals from underserved backgrounds.
Bilingual skills are a plus; fluency in additional languages enhances outreach efforts.
Prior experience working with youth programs or in community engagement roles is preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for administrative tasks and client communication.
Passion for leadership development and empowering others through grassroots initiatives.
Some knowledge of Scouting would be helpful, but not essential.
Ability to communicate effectively within an organization.
Knowledge and relationship ties with communities served.
Ability to lead and mentor youth in Scoutreach and Adventure Club programming.
Reside in or near the Fox Valley Area, preferably Appleton or Oshkosh areas.

Benefits for this full-time position:

· Earn a bi-weekly allowance of $939.58 (gross), paid through AmeriCorps.

· No-cost health, vision and dental insurance through AmeriCorps.

· Low- to no-cost childcare assistance through AmeriCorps.

· $7,395 Education Award for tuition or student loan payback upon completing service term (10/12/26-8/27/27); paid through AmeriCorps.

If age 55+ may transfer education award to child, stepchild, or grandchild within 7 years.

This full-time position averages 37-40 hours per week and requires a flexible schedule that may include afternoon and evening shifts.

Program Coordinators travel to multiple partner locations each week. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel are required. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

No Scouting experience? No problem. While prior experience is preferred, we’ll provide the training, resources, and support needed for success!
