Full Job Description

General Summary: Serve as University School of Milwaukee’s (USM) primary greeter and receptionist. This individual is responsible for guests’ first impressions, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents, and visitors. Ensure outstanding and professional customer service at the forefront of every interaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Greet all incoming students, families, and guests respectfully and professionally, determining their needs and directing them to the proper person or location.
Answer calls and inquiries in a pleasant, informed manner for the purpose of providing and creating a positive image and first impression of USM.
Manage the Darrow Welcome Center and the Lee Community Room to enhance the efficient and inviting use of these facilities.
Manage the visitor management and registration check-in system according to policy.
Assist incoming substitute teachers and direct them to the proper division.
Support Security staff to facilitate response to emergency situations.
Receive and distribute miscellaneous materials dropped off.
Be knowledgeable and current on school activities, programs, and events related to the school calendar.
Support Operations departments and Security Department with administrative tasks.
Work collaboratively and effectively within the USM administrative support team and USM community at large.
Manage resources efficiently.
Perform other duties and administrative tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent telephone etiquette with the ability to deal tactfully and confidently with callers and visitors.
A courteous and pleasant personality.
Strong organizational skills for multi-tasking.
Ability to successfully work and interact with a diverse population.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Commitment to developing knowledge of the USM culture and the community served.
Strong interpersonal skills; capable of using tact and diplomacy in dealing with others.
High level of maturity, confidentiality, assertiveness and independence.
Ability to embrace USM’s Common Trust.
Capable of competently operating technology such as Microsoft Office and familiarity with Google Workspace.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED minimum.
Previous experience in a school or non-profit environment is preferred
