Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Prep Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will play a vital part in food preparation and kitchen operations, ensuring that our dishes meet the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food service practices, food safety regulations, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods.
Help with menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
Support the dietary department by preparing meals that meet specific dietary needs.
Participate in ongoing training to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food handling practices.

Skills

Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
Familiarity with menu planning and the ability to assist in creating balanced meal options.
Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices for safe food handling.
Experience working in a kitchen environment, preferably within a food service or dietary aide role.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy kitchen setting.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with other staff members efficiently.
