We are seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to join our manufacturing team during an exciting period of growth and facility relocation.
This position will begin at our current facility in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, where employees will work four 10-hour shifts per week (Monday through Thursday) for approximately 2 to 3 months. Following this transition period, our operations will relocate to Seville, Ohio, and employees will continue their employment at the new facility.
Candidates must be willing to work in Elk Grove Village during the transition and relocate to Seville, Ohio once the move is complete.
Employees who successfully support the transition and remain employed through the relocation will receive a guaranteed transition bonus, paid within their first year of employment.
Position Summary
The Tool & Die Maker will be responsible for manufacturing, maintaining, repairing, and modifying tooling and custom components used throughout our steel rule manufacturing operation. This role requires strong machining skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with engineering and production teams to support manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
Essential Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to manufacture parts to precise requirements.
- Set up and operate mills, lathes, grinders, and other Tool & Die equipment to produce precision components.
- Utilize knowledge of various metal substrates and materials used in the manufacturing and shaping of steel rule products.
- Maintain, repair, and support tooling used on punching line equipment and other manufacturing machinery.
- Troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
- Assist engineers with the design, fabrication, modification, and reverse engineering of custom parts and tooling solutions.
- Perform preventative maintenance and continuous improvement activities related to tooling and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and production standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Tool & Die Maker, Machinist, or similar manufacturing role.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Experience operating mills, lathes, grinders, and other precision machining equipment.
- Strong understanding of metalworking processes and materials.
- Mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- CAD experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment and machinery.
Location & Relocation Requirement
This position requires employees to work in Elk Grove Village, IL for approximately 2 to 3 months before transitioning to our Seville, OH facility as part of our plant relocation. Candidates should be prepared to temporarily work in the Elk Grove Village area and relocate to Ohio when operations are transferred.

To support employees during the transition period in Illinois, the company will provide:

- Mileage reimbursement at the current federal mileage rate
