Business Faculty Position 2026-2027:
Marianapolis Preparatory School seeks a qualified full-time business teacher, preferably with
three to five years of experience in a secondary school. The position will include teaching five
classes, working in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Social Sciences
Department Chair. The qualified applicant will have experience teaching high school-level
business courses, with an ability to teach topics including entrepreneurship, finance,
management, Advanced Placement Economics, and marketing. In addition, the school seeks a
candidate who has knowledge and experience with educational technology in the classroom and
who brings an active interest in engaging in a 21st-century learning community.
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
- Demonstrable skills in oral and written communication
- Ability to work well in a student-centered curriculum
- Understanding of learning styles and differentiated instruction
- Desire to work with high school learners
- Skill at managing multi-faceted work in an intense and supportive learning community
All teacher candidates are expected to have either experience or interest in learning the
Understanding by Design curriculum development framework and to attend a new faculty
workshop in August. Preferred candidates must enjoy working with adolescents, have an ability
to work well in a student-centered curriculum, and understand student learning styles and
differentiated instruction.
In addition, the position includes: advising, participation as an athletic coach or activities leader
for two seasons each year, and involvement in residential life, understanding that the typical
commitment involves both after-school activities and weeknight-weekend supervision.
