Job Summary
We have a great team and are looking to add a few new members.
Join our new product development team as an Industrial Sewing Machine Operator and become a vital part of creating new and innovative high-quality products! In this role, you will operate industrial sewing machines to create, assemble, and finish textile products with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute directly to new product development, ensuring timely delivery of innovative products.
We are seeking sewing machines operators on a Contract basis to assist our design team in building new prototypes and fabric products. This role is part time as a 1099 employee. Schedule is flexible and will vary depending on project needs and timelines. It is possible to work morning hours or afternoon/ evening hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate various industrial sewing machines to produce textile products according to specifications.
- Follow detailed sewing instructions and quality standards to ensure consistency and durability of finished items.
- Inspect raw materials, fabrics, and finished products for defects or inconsistencies, making adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency throughout the manufacturing process.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking materials used and reporting shortages or discrepancies.
- Troubleshoot machine issues promptly to minimize downtime and keep production on schedule.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of fabric construction techniques and sewing processes. Prior experience in commercial or industrial sewing applications is a must.
- Proficiency in operating various sewing machines used in industrial or commercial settings.
- Experience with manufacturing environments, demonstrating efficiency under tight deadlines.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, patterns, or work orders accurately.
- Ability to troubleshoot machine problems quickly and perform basic maintenance when necessary
Requirements
- Prior experience with industrial sewing and assembly
- Ability to speak English
- US Citizen
- Ability to lift 40lbs and sit for long periods of time
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and industrial sewing principles
- Excellent creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills
- A positive and adaptable attitude, a strong desire to learn, close attention to detail, and motivation to work quickly & efficiently
Job Type: 1099 contract employment, Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour based on experience
Expected hours: Flexible schedule, approximately 20hrs/wk. Open to 1-2 weeks on, then 1-2 weeks off, depending on workload.
