Full Job Description

Peer Recovery Coach

Full time: 40 hours per week, non-exempt, $22.00/hour.

The Recovery Center of HOPE (RCH) https://www.recoverycenterofhope.org/, a program of the Western Massachusetts Training Consortium www.wmtcinfo.org, is seeking a full-time, in-person Peer Recovery Coach to join our team. We are seeking an individual who is community oriented, willing to learn and apply social justice values, grounded in their own recovery, and committed to supporting others through a peer-led, strengths-based approach. The Peer Recovery Coach will support peers and recoverees in community at the Recovery Center of HOPE. In addition, this person will provide support with transportation, using the Recovery Center of HOPE van, to recovery supports, accessing resources, and building recovery networks.

The Consortium is committed to undoing systems of oppression and the harms they have caused. It actively works toward building an anti-racist environment and a sense of belonging. This work often involves witnessing the impacts of trauma and systemic barriers. The ability to remain grounded, present, and recovery-oriented in challenging or unresolved moments is essential.

This position is rooted in the peer recovery model, which centers mutuality, shared experience, and “doing with, not for.” The Peer Recovery Coach supports individuals in directing their own recovery while supporting them to access transportation, community resources, and recovery networks.

The Recovery Center of HOPE is dynamic and community based. The Recovery Coach role requires flexibility, collaboration, and the ability to balance multiple responsibilities while staying engaged with peers and team members throughout the day.

Responsibilities:

· Provide one-on-one and group peer recovery coaching using a strengths-based, multiple-pathways approach.

· Facilitate All Recovery Meetings, activities, and groups that promote recovery values and connection.

· Build authentic relationships and support individuals in identifying goals, overcoming barriers, and connecting to resources and recovery community

· Serve as a role model of recovery values and ethical peer practice

· Provide “Guiding Rides” to recovery supports using the RCH van

· Build and maintain relationships with community partners including treatment providers and harm-reduction organizations

· Help grow an accessible, recovery-friendly resource network

· Work closely with and take direction from the Program Director, using regular supervision, feedback, and shared planning to support alignment, growth, and quality peer support

· Work collaboratively with RCH staff in all activities and daily operations in an active team environment

· Maintain accurate documentation and participate in individual and group supervision

· Engage in ongoing training and professional development

· Uphold confidentiality, agency polies, RCH Community Agreements, and the Recovery Coach Code of Ethics

· Represent RCH and the Consortium in a professional manner

The hours for this position are subject to change to meet the needs of the program; some evening and weekend availability are a must.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years lived experieance in substance use recovery

Associate degree and/ or Certified Peer Recovery Coach preferred (completion of Recovery Coach Academy and related peer support experience/ lived experience may substitute)

Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of safe driving history

Reliable transportation

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to travel regularly within Massachusetts using an agency vehicle

Demonstrated commitment to personal recovery, social justice, and understanding of trauma and healing
