Full Job Description

**Job Title: Consumer Lender**

**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Consumer Lender to join our team. As a Consumer/Commercial Lender, you will be responsible for evaluating and approving loan applications for customers seeking financial assistance while providing exceptional customer service throughout the loan process. This involves assessing the creditworthiness of applicants while ensuring compliance with all internal policies and procedures as well as all applicable regulations.

**Responsibilities:**

· Evaluates loan applicants. Obtain and compile necessary financial information to process loans.

· Analyze loan data on new and existing loans, including data provided by credit bureaus and other financial institutions.

· Complete loan applications and all pre-processing functions in a timely manner.

· Screen loan requests based on financial institution policies and on types of loansoffered by the institution.

· Answer incoming phone calls and schedule appointments.

· Actively participate in local business and community activities and maintain close contact with local builders, real estate brokers, customers, and prospects.

· Render final credit decisions.

· Review all necessary documents for completeness and accuracy.

· Review the delinquent loan status for the financial institution, contacting the delinquent clients as needed.

· Update delinquent loan records, overdue payment notices, negotiations with delinquent borrowers, foreclosure notices and related details.

· Review developing laws and regulations as they apply to installment loan security agreements.

· Cross sell Bank products to existing and potential Clients.

· Assist other departments on a temporary basis as needed during peak hours.

· Other duties as requested.

**Experience:**

- Two to four years in consumer and/or commercial lending or related financial services field is preferred.

- Proficiency in 10-key typing and familiarity with financial software.

- Ability to learn and follow financial institution policies regarding the lending process.

- Strong understanding of basic math principles related to lending.
