Job Title: Pre-Op, Operating Room, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic surgical services team as a Pre-Op, OR, and PACU Nurse. In this versatile role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care throughout the surgical continuum—including pre-operative preparation, intraoperative support in the operating room, and post-anesthesia recovery. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring patient safety, comfort, and positive outcomes, while maintaining compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct pre-operative assessments, verify readiness for surgery, and educate patients and families.
Assist in the operating room by preparing equipment, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting the surgical team during procedures.
Monitor and care for patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), focusing on anesthesia recovery and effective pain management.
Ensure a clean, safe, and sterile environment by following strict infection control protocols.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary staff to provide coordinated, high-quality care.
Provide emotional reassurance and clear communication to patients and families throughout their surgical experience.
Document all nursing care, observations, and interventions accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

Qualifications

Current RN license (in good standing).
BLS certification (required); ACLS certification preferred.
Experience or training in operating room procedures, sterile technique, and surgical nursing preferred.
Proficiency in IV insertion, catheterization, and comprehensive patient assessment.
Familiarity with EHR systems and accurate clinical documentation practices.
Solid understanding of post-anesthesia recovery protocols and perioperative nursing principles.
Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
