As a Lot & Detail Porter, you will support the Sales and Service Departments to manage the daily flow of traded vehicles, lot organization, and cleaning and detailing vehicles. The Lot & Detail Porter examines the vehicles for cosmetic imperfections and performs a variety of job duties when reconditioning the vehicles. We are looking for a team player, with strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Inventory Logistics
- Meet with Lot/Detail Coordinator to manage the daily flow of traded vehicles
- Bring trade forms to the Used Vehicle Team to enter into Tekion
- Adhere Tekion Stock Stickers to the windshield of each vehicle
- Double check VIN in the windshield and door to ensure we have the right vehicle
- Check Odometer
- Quick cleaning of vehicles in preparation for pictures or auction
- Utilize Provision to take ‘Quick Pictures’ of every retail vehicle and save
- KeyTrak utilization
- Utilize Irecon to track the reconditioning of each vehicle; goal for all vehicles to be out of Irecon within 5 days
· Marketing
Own the CPO process ensuring the CPO folder, RO, flag, plate, stickers, window decal, etc. are on or in every CPO vehicle and parked in the CPO line. Rearrange the lot to create expanded CPO locations
· Lot Organization
- Prioritize filling all spaces on the lot with a focus on the mainline throughout the day
- Organize vehicles by category and color and ensure all we are rotating the vehicles
- Ensure all vehicles are parked in straight lines
- Ensure all windows and sunroofs are closed and doors are locked
· Detail minimum of 12 vehicles per week while working under 40 hours per week
- Wash vehicle exterior using cleaning solution, water, cloths and brushes.
- Wet sanding of automotive paint and high-speed buffing experience helpful but not required - we are willing to train
- Apply protective wax to the vehicle surface.
- Examine vehicles for imperfections.
- Notify management immediately if work cannot be completed as scheduled.
- Vacuum interior or vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris.
- Clean upholstery, rugs and other surfaces using cleaning agents, applicators & cleaning devices.
- Apply revitalizers and preservation agents to vinyl or leather surfaces. Treat fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals to preserve and protect interior components.
- Clean engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents to remove grease and grime.
- Apply paint to chipped body surfaces of vehicles, using touch-up paint.
- Keep up to date on all training and certifications. Follow all company safety policies & procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
- Understand and follow all state and federal regulations, such as governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
- Reliable attendance required.
