Full Job Description

Job Summary:

The Human Resource Generalist will assist in supporting daily human resources operations and ensuring a positive teammate experience. This role handles a broad range of HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding, maintaining electronic records, employee relations and performance management.

Essential Functions:

Recruitment & Staffing: Managing job postings, screening resumes, interviewing candidates, and facilitating the onboarding process.
Benefits & Payroll Support: Assisting with benefits administration & enrollment.
Records Management: Maintaining accurate digital and physical personnel files.
HRIS Maintenance: Utilizing Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to manage employee data.
Assist with scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of the department.
May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with the Short Service Teammate program, continuing education, and work assessments.
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Conducts or acquires pre-employment checks and teammate eligibility verifications.
Coordinates new hire orientation, onboarding and teammate recognition programs.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, morale and training and development.
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, teammates, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Attends and participates in teammate disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Attends career fairs, job expos, community employment events, and campus recruiting activities to promote the organization and build candidate pipelines.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Skills:

3-5 years experience in a HR role.
Ability to work in a team environment/atmosphere.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for handling sensitive matters.
Excellent organizational skills to manage a broad range of tasks and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, or related software.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and ATS systems.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, related field, or equivalent experience required.

Safety
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.

Travel
Travel to job sites is required as needed.
