Position Summary
The Preschool Executive Director is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily operations, compliance, staffing, organization, and overall success of three preschool facilities. This individual provides direct support to each Center Director and must be prepared to step in wherever needed to ensure all locations remain safe, staffed, organized, compliant, and operating according to company standards.
This is a hands-on leadership position. The Executive Director must be dependable, organized, flexible, proactive, and capable of managing multiple facilities and priorities at the same time.
Key ResponsibilitiesMulti-Site Operations & Leadership
- Oversee the daily operations of all three preschool facilities.
- Regularly visit and monitor each location.
- Provide leadership, coaching, support, and accountability to Center Directors and staff.
- Ensure each facility is properly staffed and operating safely and efficiently.
- Communicate with Directors regarding staffing, enrollment, compliance, parent concerns, maintenance, and daily operations.
- Identify operational concerns and ensure they are corrected promptly.
- Serve as the primary connection between ownership and the Directors of each facility.
Director Coverage
- Fill in as the on-site Director when needed at any of the three locations.
- Provide Director coverage during absences, vacations, training, staffing shortages, or Director vacancies.
- Maintain all credentials necessary to legally serve as a childcare Director.
- Ensure administrative and compliance responsibilities continue without interruption while providing coverage.
- Become familiar with the staff, children, schedules, routines, and operations of all three locations.
Hiring & Staffing
- Monitor staffing needs across all three facilities.
- Create and maintain job postings.
- Review applications and resumes.
- Contact qualified applicants.
- Schedule interviews.
- Conduct or assist with interviews as needed.
- Coordinate hiring decisions with management and Center Directors.
- Assist with employee onboarding.
- Help ensure new employees have required documentation, credentials, and background screening before beginning work.
- Assist with staff schedules and emergency coverage when necessary.
- Monitor staff attendance, performance, training needs, and professionalism.
Licensing & Compliance
- Ensure all three facilities remain in compliance at all times with childcare licensing requirements and company policies.
- Conduct routine classroom, facility, and administrative compliance checks.
- Ensure staff files, child files, attendance records, postings, and required documentation remain current.
- Monitor credentials, background screenings, training records, CPR/First Aid, and other required documentation.
- Prepare facilities for licensing inspections, audits, observations, and other regulatory visits.
- Address compliance concerns immediately and follow through until corrections are completed.
Monthly Paperwork & Documentation
The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring all required monthly paperwork for each of the three facilities is completed accurately and submitted on time.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing monthly compliance paperwork.
- Confirming required forms are signed and dated.
- Ensuring fire drill documentation is completed.
- Reviewing playground and facility inspection documentation.
- Monitoring staff and child file requirements.
- Tracking expiration dates for physicals, immunizations, credentials, background screenings, CPR/First Aid, and other documents.
- Reviewing attendance and enrollment documentation.
- Monitoring ELC/School Readiness, VPK, Food Program, licensing, and company paperwork when applicable.
- Following up with Directors regarding missing or incomplete documentation.
- Maintaining an organized deadline and compliance tracking system for all three facilities.
Staff Supervision & Development
- Support Center Directors with supervising and managing staff.
- Ensure employees follow classroom schedules, lesson plans, supervision requirements, cleaning procedures, and company policies.
- Assist with staff meetings and professional development.
- Coach employees and Directors when improvement is needed.
- Assist with write-ups and disciplinary documentation when necessary.
- Promote teamwork, professionalism, education, safety, and positive classroom environments.
Parent & Enrollment Support
- Assist with parent concerns that require executive-level involvement.
- Ensure consistent and professional parent communication.
- Assist with tours, enrollment, open houses, special events, and community outreach.
- Ensure enrollment paperwork and child files are complete.
- Support efforts to maintain and increase enrollment at all three locations.
Facility Oversight
- Monitor the cleanliness, safety, appearance, and organization of each facility.
- Report and follow up on maintenance and repair needs.
- Ensure classrooms, offices, kitchens, bathrooms, playgrounds, and common areas remain inspection-ready.
- Assist with preparation for tours, inspections, special events, and licensing visits.
Required Credentials & Qualifications
Candidates must have:
- A current Florida Director Credential.
- Required VPK credentials/qualifications to oversee or provide Director coverage for VPK programming.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current First Aid certification.
- Completion of the required DCF Transportation Course.
- Previous childcare management, preschool Director, or comparable leadership experience.
- Knowledge of Florida childcare licensing and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between all three preschool locations.
Preferred / Recommended
- A current van/driver physical is strongly recommended, particularly because the Executive Director may need to assist with transportation operations when necessary.
- Experience with ELC/School Readiness.
- Experience with VPK administration and compliance.
- Experience with childcare transportation procedures.
- Experience with Food Program documentation.
- Experience supervising multiple childcare locations.
Additional Responsibilities
Because this position oversees three facilities, duties are not limited to the responsibilities listed above.
The Executive Director may be required to:
- Provide classroom coverage.
- Assist with transportation when qualified and needed.
- Deliver supplies or paperwork between locations.
- Help with enrollment and parent communication.
- Respond to staffing emergencies.
- Support trainings and special events.
- Resolve operational concerns.
- Open or close a facility when necessary.
- Assist Directors with daily responsibilities.
- Handle urgent compliance matters.
- Complete special projects assigned by ownership.

Position Expectation
The Preschool Executive Director is expected to have an ownership mindset and take initiative. This individual must be willing to handle both major operational responsibilities and everyday tasks necessary to keep all three facilities functioning successfully.
Primary Goal:
To ensure all three Dream Chasers Academy locations are SAFE, STAFFED, COMPLIANT, ORGANIZED, EDUCATIONAL, PROFESSIONAL, and OPERATING SUCCESSFULLY every day.
Pay: $35,360.00 - $41,600.00 per year
