Job Description – Painter
Howard Industries’ paint booth is equipped with a unique mobile rack system which allows easy movement of painted sign systems for higher output. Also, color matching capabilities allow the efficient production of over six thousand finishes corresponding to Pantone and other major color programs. The two-component polyurethane enamel is applied to primed aluminum and provides extremely durable and chemical resistant gloss, semi-gloss, satin and matte finishes.
Education/Experience
Minimum: A high school degree or GED equivalent is required. VoTech auto body courses are a plus.
Preferred: At least one-year experience in industrial or auto body paint preparation.
- Major Responsibilities
- Prioritizes work orders in congruence with shipping date and production time.
- Mixes enamel paint to specified color and consistency.
- Takes the lead, gives direction, helps solve problems, and motivates workers whom perform similar duties.
- Thoroughly inspects completed project to guarantee superior quality.
- Specific Tasks and Responsibilities
- Monitors oven operation to ensure efficiency and completeness of paint curing.
- Receives instructions and work specifications from supervisor and transmits them to other workers.
- Trains inexperienced temporary and/or permanent employees in the paint department.
- Applies paint and cleans spraying equipment.
- Prepares touch-up kits for all painted signage.
- Mixing color formulas when needed for custom match.
- Prepares aluminum and other materials for the painting process using dual-action sanders and other surface preparation equipment, as necessary.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
