Full Job Description

Description:

This position is per diem, must have availability on Wednesdays from 6:30 am- 3pm.

Job Summary:

Answers telephones and speaks with patients to identify and meet their health care needs in a superior manner, performs call triaging and routes calls internally. Schedules appointments as requested by callers/patients by using scheduling software, contacts patients to confirm or reschedule their appointment and uses clinic protocols to determine appropriate appointment assignment. Documents patient calls, issues and resolutions appropriately. Performs new patient registration and sends new patient packets.

Qualifications:

Education/ Experience: High school graduate or equivalent. Proficient computer skills required. Previous experience working in a clinical setting, knowledge of medical terminology, and/or experience with scheduling software is preferred. Demonstrate the ability to properly use the phone and computer systems, fax machines, photocopies, scanners, printers and other business machinery. Excellent customer service skills.

Other Requirements: Maintains a cooperative professional working relationship with staff including but not limited to medical staff, and other departments, as well as outside agencies, community members and our patients.

Requirements:

Essential Functions Of Positions:

Answers incoming calls and routes calls internally in a professional manner.
Manages calls in a personal, systematic and organized manner.
Performs registration for new patients and updates registration information for established patients, as well as sending welcome packets to new patients.
Schedules, reschedules, cancels and verifies patient appointments per Clinic guidelines.
Responds to customer inquiries and provides general information to callers regarding GCFH services.
Directs patient to appropriate clinic person based on content of message, identifying and escalating priority issues.
Works with providers, nursing staff, and other GCFH Department staff to efficiently and effectively address patient needs.
Accurately documents phone calls and information provided to callers.
Assesses computerized medication log and processes medication request as needed.
Consults with the patient's provider or nursing staff as needed.
Assists with completing administrative tasks generated by supervisor.
Acts as a customer-service representative, taking appropriate steps to meet the needs of the callers as well as improve relations with referred providers, specialists, agencies, and other in order to ensure quality care to patients.
Maintains and addresses automated prescription line requests and Scheduling Center voicemails.
Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.
