Client Acquisition Specialist (Commission Only, Remote)
Quantum Forge is a web development studio that hand-codes websites for small businesses. No templates, no plugins, no monthly fees. Our clients pay once and own everything we make. We're looking for people to make first contact with business owners who need exactly that and don't know we exist yet.
This is a contract, commission-only role. Read the whole thing before you apply — we've been deliberately blunt about the parts most postings hide.
What the job actually is
We have software that surfaces leads. It does not hand you a scraped list of strangers. Every lead in it is a recently active local business that visibly does not have a website — with their public information and a link to their Google Business Profile already on the screen.
Your job is to call them, find out whether they're interested, and pass the interested ones to Brandon, our Client Manager. Brandon works out the quote and closes the deal. You are not quoting prices, writing proposals, or negotiating. You are finding the people worth talking to and filtering out the ones who aren't.
That's the whole role. It's narrow on purpose.
Pay Structure
The pay figure listed on Indeed is a placeholder. Indeed requires a number in that field and this role has no hourly wage, so ignore it. Here is the real structure:
- 10% of the build price on every deal Brandon closes from a lead you contacted
- $100 minimum per closed deal, regardless of what the project sold for
- 15% on every closed deal after your third close in a calendar month, resetting each month
Most of our builds land between $1,776 and $9,000. As we grow, Brandon is currently quoting some projects below our published minimum to get more businesses in the door — that's the reason the $100 floor exists. You shouldn't take a pay cut for a pricing decision you weren't part of.
Attribution is permanent. If you call a business in March and they sign in November, that commission is yours. If you stop working with us entirely and a lead you contacted signs a year later, that commission is still yours. First contact owns the lead. We're not going to nickel-and-dime you out of work you already did.
Commission is earned when the client pays in full, and we pay you within a few days of that. No net-30, no waiting on an invoice cycle.
The honest math, because you deserve it before you apply
Our builds take two to five weeks. Commission pays on final payment. So realistically, there will be four to seven weeks between your first good call and your first check. If you need money next Friday, this is not the job, and we'd rather tell you now than have you find out in week three.
Second: we cannot tell you what you'll earn, because we don't know yet. We've made about thirty calls in three months. That's not a close rate, that's a rounding error. We have no data to hand you and we're not going to invent a "$100K potential" number like every other commission-only ad on this site. What we can tell you is exactly what a close pays, exactly when it pays, and exactly what the leads look like. The rest is genuinely unknown, to you and to us.
If that uncertainty is disqualifying, that's a completely reasonable position and we won't be offended.
What we give you
- The lead program. Pre-filtered, active businesses with no website. No prospecting, no list-buying, no guessing who to call.
- Both of our field guides. Smoke and Mirrors documents every scam, upsell, and myth in this industry — marked-up hosting, fake security fees, guaranteed-ranking promises, the whole catalog. The Three Worlds explains how we actually build. Read them and you'll know more about web development economics than most of the people currently selling it.
- Direct access to us when you have a question we can answer.
What we don't give you
- A phone, a dialer, a CRM, or a script. Use whatever tools you want. We can show you how to set up a free second number through Google Voice if you'd like one, but your setup is yours.
- A base salary. There isn't one.
- A quota, a schedule, or a minimum call count.
We're builders, not salespeople. We'll hand you everything we know about the product and then get out of your way on how you sell it. If you need a manager reading you a script, we're the wrong shop.
Details
- Contract / 1099
- Fully remote. All communication happens by phone, text, and video. There are no in-person meetings, ever, for anyone.
- You work when you want. No set hours, no minimum dials, no schedule. If volume is short, we hire more people rather than pressure the ones we have.
- You'll be calling Arizona businesses, so calls have to land during Arizona business hours. Arizona does not observe daylight saving time, so from March to November we're two hours behind Chicago and three behind New York. If you're on the East Coast, your calling day starts late morning. Workable, but know it going in.
- No experience required. We'd rather have someone sharp and honest who's never done this than someone polished who's done it badly.
- We're hiring as many good people as we can find. You're not competing for one slot.
Rules we don't bend
Our entire business is built on not being the kind of company that lies to small business owners. That means there are things you may never say on our behalf, no matter how close it gets you to a yes:
- Never quote a price or promise a number. Brandon owns pricing. "I can get you a site for eight hundred bucks" is not yours to say.
- Never guarantee search rankings, or imply we have any special relationship with Google. Nobody does. We say so in writing, in public.
- Never promise a feature, a timeline, or a deliverable that Brandon then has to eat.
- Never manufacture urgency. No "your competitors are pulling ahead, act now." Fear-selling is in our field guide as a tactic to warn clients about. We're not going to turn around and use it.
- Manual dialing only. No autodialers, no prerecorded messages, no AI voice agents. Identify yourself as calling on behalf of Quantum Forge. If someone asks not to be called again, honor it the first time they say it, without argument.
If you can't sell inside those lines, you'll be miserable here and we'll part ways quickly.
What this is NOT
- This is not a closing role. You hand off to Brandon. If you want to own deals end to end, this isn't it.
- This is not steady income. Some months will produce several closes. Some will produce none.
- This is not a job with a boss. Nobody is going to check whether you worked today.
- This is not a role for someone who needs a script. We'll give you the material. How you use it is yours.
One more thing, and we mean it
We're a small operation and we care about who we work with. We're looking for someone who's honest, takes pride in their work, and treats people right — clients, teammates, even the guy at the gas station who's 47 cents short. We want to grow with our team, not replace them over time.
The businesses you'll be calling are somebody's whole life. A lot of them have been burned already by someone who sold them a website they didn't own and a monthly bill that never ended. If you'd enjoy being the person who tells them the truth about that, you'll do well here.
Quantum Forge is built on simple values: good work, good people, good business. We're not complicated about it. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. If that sounds cheesy, we're probably not a good fit.
Benefits: Flexible schedule. Genuinely — you set it entirely.
Pay: $100.00 - $9,000.00 per month
Benefits:
- Employee discount
- Flexible schedule
- Work from home
Application Question(s):
- You'll be calling a business owner who is busy, has no website, and has never once asked anyone for one. Walk me through your first thirty seconds on that call. Actual words, not a philosophy.
- They say: "I've got a Facebook page, that's all I need." What do you say back?
- Sending Brandon someone who was never really interested wastes his time and earns you nothing. How do you tell the difference between a person who needs another week to think and a person who is just being polite to get off the phone?
- This role pays nothing until a deal closes, and there will likely be four to seven weeks between your first good call and your first check. Tell us honestly why that works for your current situation.
- Have you ever been asked to sell something you didn't fully believe in? What did you do?
- If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
- Please confirm you understand this is a commission-only 1099 contract role with no base pay, no guaranteed hours, and no minimum earnings, and that all calls must be placed during Arizona business hours.
