Job Title: Senior HR Coordinator
Industry: Professional Services Firm (Similar industry preferred)
Location: Remote (Preferred EST, CST but potentially open to other timezones)
Salary: $65,000–$73,000

Position Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator provides operational and administrative support across the People & Culture function for multiple office locations. This role is responsible for coordinating day-to-day HR activities throughout the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, HR compliance, performance management support, and employee engagement initiatives.

The Human Resources Coordinator partners closely with employees, managers, and leadership to deliver a positive employee experience while ensuring accurate, timely, and confidential HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations

Maintain accurate employee records and HR information systems (HRIS).
Process employee status changes, including hires, transfers, promotions, and separations.
Assist with employment verifications, HR reporting, and data management.
Maintain HR documentation, forms, policies, and standard operating procedures.
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.

Benefits Administration & Leave Management

Coordinate employee benefits enrollment, qualifying life event changes, and benefit terminations.
Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, state leave programs, ADA accommodations, and short- and long-term disability claims.
Prepare, submit, and track disability documentation with insurance carriers and third-party administrators.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits and leave programs while maintaining confidentiality.

Employee Experience

Support onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a seamless employee experience.
Assist with performance management activities and employee engagement initiatives.
Partner with managers and employees to provide HR guidance and administrative support.
Contribute to initiatives that foster a collaborative, inclusive, and positive workplace culture.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
2–4 years of Human Resources experience.
Experience supporting multiple HR functions across the employee lifecycle.
Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Experience administering employee benefits and leave of absence programs.
Strong problem-solving, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
