As a Home Equity Loan Officer, you will:

Serve as a primary point of contact and front-line marketer for Home Equity and other specialized portfolio loan programs for members and external referral partners.
Originate Home Equity loans and lines of credit, as well as other specialized portfolio loans, in accordance with Credit Union policy and all applicable lending requirements to support Real Estate Department goals.
Develop and maintain referral relationships throughout the market area to help grow market share.

This role offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

2 weeks' vacation in the first year, 3 weeks in the second year, and 4 weeks starting the third year.
10 paid holidays each year.
5 paid sick days annually.

Eligible for a semi-annual incentive of 2.5 (5% yearly) of your annual salary based upon the achievement of our strategic organizational goals.
Upon completion of your 6th month of employment, you’re eligible to enroll in Central Willamette’s 401(k) program. Central Willamette Credit Union will match your contributions dollar for dollar up to the first 3% of your gross salary, and 50% of the next 2% of your gross salary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Member and referral partner engagement, consultation, and experience — 30%

Meet with members by phone and in person to advise and guide them through the full loan process, using clear, calm, and professional communication
Assist members, title companies, realtors, and other third parties with incoming questions and requests in a helpful and positive manner
Establish and maintain effective relationships internally, with members, and with community and referral partners
Anticipate needs and provide collaborative solutions that benefit members and internal customers

Loan origination, evaluation, and pipeline management — 30%

Assist members with completion of the loan application and present applicable disclosures in accordance with policy and regulation
Review and analyze financial information from all relevant parties
Originate and evaluate home equity loans, lines, and other specialized portfolio loan programs according to guidelines and portfolio requirements
Prepare loans for submission to underwriting and notify members of loan decisions
Make sound decisions based upon analysis, resources available, knowledge, and experience, and seek counsel when appropriate

Sales, referral goals, lead generation, and cross-sell — 20%

Meet established sales and referral goals of Central Willamette
Cross-sell Credit Union products and services in conjunction with accepting loan applications by identifying needs and making appropriate recommendations and referrals
Assist with lead generation and lead list contact activities to drive business to Central Willamette
Demonstrate a can-do attitude and strong follow-through, completing commitments and pushing toward results

Loan documentation, quality, and servicing support — 15%

Prepare home equity and specialized portfolio loan program documents and files
Review rates, terms, and amounts to ensure they are consistent with Credit Union policy and that all documentation is completed with technical accuracy
Assist the Mortgage Loan Servicer as necessary and provide ongoing servicing support to Mortgage Loan Originators throughout the loan process as needed
Assist with loan and line funding support and final quality review as needed
Assist with processing mortgage payments through a third-party vendor
Assist with quoting mortgage, home equity, and other specialized portfolio loan payoffs
Assist in processing all incoming mortgage, home equity, and other specialized portfolio loan insurance documentation

Market awareness, product improvement, compliance, and continuous improvement — 5%

Register and maintain a unique identifier through the Registry and comply with role requirements
Stay alert to current market conditions, products, and changes in the marketplace
Recommend new products that might improve market share and report market trends and conditions to the Director
Maintain thorough knowledge of financial institution products and services, policies and procedures, remote delivery channels, and member service functions
Maintain thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations, lending standards, and rate and fee schedules appropriate for all loan types
Seek opportunities to optimize efficiency and enhance workflows; learn quickly, apply feedback, and demonstrate consistency in the use of tools and systems provided by the credit union
Cooperate and work with co-workers as a team member
Perform all responsibilities in accordance with CW values, compliance, regulatory, and Information Protection requirements
Attend training and comply with CWCU policies and procedures as well as applicable State and Federal regulations
Perform additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent business experience
A minimum of one year of home equity or mortgage lending experience
preferred.
A basic understanding of real estate mortgage and home equity products.
Excellent marketing and sales skills.
