Job Overview

Join our dedicated team as an Animal Caretaker, where your passion for animals and commitment to their well-being will shine! In this lively and rewarding role, you will provide compassionate care, ensure a safe environment, and support the health and happiness of a variety of animals. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a positive experience for both animals and their owners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with animals, develop your skills, and make a meaningful difference every day.

Duties

Feed, water, and monitor animals to maintain optimal health and comfort
Clean enclosures, bedding, and common areas to uphold hygiene standards
Assist with animal restraint during examinations or grooming procedures
Handle animals safely during daily interactions, examinations, and procedures
Observe animal behavior for signs of illness or distress and report findings promptly
Assist staff with animal handling, relocation, and welfare checks

Qualifications

Prior veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is highly desirable
Experience with animal husbandry is a plus
Knowledge of animal handling techniques and animal restraint methods
Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting safely when moving supplies or animals
Outdoor work experience preferred
Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with visitors
Strong attention to cleanliness, safety protocols, and animal welfare standards
