Mammography Technician- FT

Who We Are

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is a 45-bed hospital that has served rural and suburban populations in Roaring Spring, Altoona, and parts of Blair, Bedford, and Huntingdon counties for 121 years. With a state-of-the art cardiac catheterization lab, Conemaugh Nason offers a range of inpatient and outpatient cardiac services close to home. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency care as an accredited chest pain center, and offers comprehensive outpatient, imaging, diagnostic, and specialty services. As a LifePoint Health National Quality Leader, hospital personnel are leading the way among peers by delivering the highest quality of care for patients.

How you’ll contribute

Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
May assist physicians with performing interventional procedures including fine needle aspiration and needle localization.
Prepare equipment and supplies.
Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
Participates in ensuring compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations and applicable accreditations
Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s), biopsies, stereotactic and special procedures.
Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
Keeps current with BiRad and follow-ups on all patients.

Education: Associate’s degree Preferred; Graduate of a Program in Discipline - Required
License: KY State Radiation Operator; ARRT
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
