Full Job Description

About the Role

Bayne Development Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives on preparing complete and accurate estimates and proposals — from concept sketches to detailed construction drawings and specifications.

You’ll play a key part in our preconstruction process, ensuring our projects are competitively priced, well-documented, and aligned with client expectations.

What You’ll Do

Prepare complete project estimates and proposals for commercial, retail, restaurant, interior renovation, ground-up, and government projects.
Review and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Develop conceptual budgets and perform quantity takeoffs from limited design information.
Review schedules, scopes of work, and logistics plans to identify potential challenges and efficiencies.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and field teams to confirm scope and constructability.
Track and communicate market trends in labor and material costs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design teams, and trade partners.
Participate in preconstruction handoffs and help transition successful bids to operations.

What You Bring

Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry (general contracting experience preferred).
Knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and processes.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills across all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
A proactive mindset with a commitment to accuracy, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
