We are recruiting for a Full-Time Medical Day Care Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) to join our skilled team of pediatric professionals in Northfield, NJ. This position is benefit eligible.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) / Recreational Therapist (RT) provides comprehensive developmental, psychosocial, and therapeutic support services to pediatric patients enrolled in the Medical Day Care program.

The CCLS/RT functions as a key member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate therapeutic activities that promote:

Gross motor development
Fine motor development
Cognitive functioning
Social and emotional development

The role includes medical play, coping support, behavior strategies, therapeutic recreation, and family-centered interventions for children with chronic illness and disabilities.

Care is delivered in accordance with:

Facility policies and procedures
NJ Department of Health Pediatric Medical Day Care standards
Interdisciplinary care planning requirements
Infection control and safety policies

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Child Life, Therapeutic Recreation, Child Development, or related field

Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) or eligible / Recreational Therapist credentials (CTR or equivalent)

Experience working with children with chronic illness and/or disabilities

Pediatric healthcare or medical daycare experience preferred

Ability to safely supervise groups of children

Strong communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills

Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed care

Current CPR certification (BLS required)
