Summary:
Responsible for providing supervisor with information necessary to make sound underwriting decisions. Provides support within established performance standards. Assures all related support activities are delivered in a manner consistent with business unit customer service focus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Underwrite and bind new and renewal business in accordance with underwriting guidelines, granted authority, and department goals for growth and profitability.
· Partner with senior underwriters to identify and gather account information needed to quote and bind new and renewal business.
· Review and analyze underwriting and pricing exhibits, including account summaries, loss runs, rate sheets, and external research.
· Generate, interpret, and act on reporting to support sound underwriting decisions.
· Provide guidance to junior underwriters, manage referrals, and promote consistent underwriting quality across the team.
· Develop and maintain strong broker relationships to support book growth and retention.
· Stay current on market conditions, competitor activity, industry developments, and regulatory changes to inform underwriting strategy.
· Ensure accurate and timely account servicing in accordance with department service standards.
· Participate in quarterly underwriting file audits with the supervising underwriter to confirm compliance with assigned letters of authority.
· Contribute to projects and departmental initiatives as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant underwriting experience.
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or ASLI are highly desirable.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:15am – 5:00pm.
