POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Worship & Music provides visionary and day-to-day leadership for all aspects of the church's
blended worship and music ministry. This individual will plan and lead a praise band-driven worship
experiences that is Christ-centered, theologically grounded, engaging, and aligned with the church’s mission
and vision. Working in close partnership with the Senior Pastor and church staff, the Director will cultivate
meaningful, Spirit-led worship that engages the full congregation. The Director will shepherd the Worship
Team both musically and spiritually.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Worship Leadership & Planning
● Plan, prepare, and lead contemporary worship services and all special worship gatherings
(Christmas, Easter, Good Friday, church retreats, etc.)
● Collaborate weekly with the Senior Pastor and preaching team to align worship with sermon themes
and the liturgical calendar
● Select and introduce biblically faithful, congregationally accessible worship music that bridges
traditional and contemporary styles
● Lead vocally and/or instrumentally with excellence and authenticity
● Create worship experiences that flow well and help the congregation engage deeply with God

Position Type: Part-Time/Full-Time
Reports To: Senior Pastor
Hours: 20-40 Hours/Week (including Sundays, special planned services/activities● Recruit, audition, train, and shepherd a diverse team of volunteers including musicians, vocalists,
choir (youth and adult) and worship leaders
● Lead weekly or bi-weekly rehearsals prioritizing music excellence, and spiritually formative
● Identify and develop emerging worship leaders, providing mentorship and growth pathways
● Cultivate a servant-hearted team culture marked by humility, unity, and spiritual maturity
● Participation in staff meetings
● Help integrate worship with other aspects of the service (communion, baptism, prayer ministry, etc.)
Production & Administration
● Coordinate with the technical/AV team on sound, lighting, projection, and livestream elements
● Oversee worship-related volunteers
● Manage the worship ministry budget, scheduling, and resource planning
● Ensure preparation of lyrics, arrangements, and worship service flow
● Maintain worship-related equipment and recommend upgrades as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Spiritual and Character
● Model Christ-like character and spiritual discipline
● Vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ
● A shepherd’s heart with emotional and spiritual maturity
● Demonstrated ability to lead and develop volunteers and worship teams
● Strong understanding of biblical worship theology and liturgical principles
● Agreement with Dripping Springs Presbyterian Church’s statement of faith and mission
SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES, EXPERIENCE
● Bachelor’s degree in Music, Worship Arts, Ministry, or a related field (or equivalent ministry
experience)
● Minimum 3-5 years experience leading worship in a church or ministry setting
● Demonstrated ability to lead contemporary worship effectively● Strong vocal and instrumental proficiency (guitar and/or keys preferred)
● Proficiency in music arrangement, composition, or recording/production
● Familiarity with Planning Center, ProPresenter (or similar)
● Strong organizational and communication skills
● Humble and servant-hearted leading from a posture of love
● Relationally gifted to pastor, inspire and build genuine community
● Theologically grounded, committed to Scripture informed and Spirit-led worship
● Thrives under the pressure of ministry with grace, and emotional and spiritual strength
COMPENSATION
- Part-time/full-time 20-40 hours per week
- Commensurate with experience, qualifications and hours committed
