Overview
Fern Athletics is seeking an experienced Strength & Conditioning Coach to join our growing team of performance coaches. We are not a commercial gym, and this is not a typical personal training position.
At Fern Athletics, we exclusively train athletes. Our mission is to help athletes become faster, stronger, more explosive, more resilient, and ultimately perform at a higher level while reducing their risk of injury.
We work with athletes ranging from youth sports through collegiate competitors across a variety of sports, with a large emphasis on soccer performance.
About Fern Athletics
Our athlete development system focuses on three core areas:
- Soccer Skill Development
- Strength & Conditioning
- Speed Mechanics, Agility & Change of Direction
Each department is led by a dedicated Director with collegiate and professional-level experience. We are currently looking to expand our coaching staff with a Strength & Conditioning Coach who will work directly under the guidance of our Director of Strength & Conditioning.
Position Responsibilities
- Lead strength & conditioning sessions for youth and high school athletes.
- Coach athletes using Fern Athletics' proven training methodology.
- Execute training plans designed by the Director of Strength & Conditioning.
- Create workouts and training sessions when appropriate based on athlete goals and program needs.
- Ensure proper exercise technique, safety, and progression.
- Build positive relationships with athletes and families while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Help create an energetic, motivating, and disciplined training environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the following:
- Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach (recognized certification required).
- Former collegiate athlete (or higher level), OR collegiate coaching experience.
- Strong understanding of strength training, power development, injury prevention, and long-term athletic development.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Passion for coaching and developing athletes.
- Reliable, professional, and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience training youth and high school athletes.
- Experience with speed, agility, plyometric, and power development.
- Familiarity with testing and tracking athletic performance.
- CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
Schedule
This is a part-time position.
Preferred availability includes:
- Weekday evenings beginning around 4:30 PM
- Occasional weekends as demand grows
Additional hours may become available as our programs continue to expand.

- $30/hour
