Position Description:

RootedHomes is seeking a mission-driven, bilingual Sales Manager to lead the sales and homebuyer experience for our permanently affordable homeownership program. The Sales Manager will guide prospective homebuyers through the process of purchasing a RootedHomes home, ensuring a culturally responsive, transparent, and supportive experience from initial inquiry through closing and beyond.

RootedHomes is a nonprofit Community Land Trust (CLT) dedicated to creating permanently affordable homeownership opportunities for individuals and families who are priced out of the traditional housing market. Through the CLT model, RootedHomes builds and preserves high-quality, energy-efficient homes while maintaining long-term affordability for future generations. RootedHomes partners with communities, local governments, employers, funders, and residents to expand access to homeownership throughout Central Oregon.

The Sales Manager plays a critical role in connecting qualified buyers with affordable homeownership opportunities, managing sales processes, building relationships with community partners, and supporting equitable access to housing. This position requires a strong understanding of real estate transactions, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full sales process for RootedHomes homeownership opportunities, from initial buyer interest through purchase and closing.
Build strong relationships with prospective homeowners, ensuring they understand the RootedHomes Community Land Trust model, qualifications, timelines, and purchasing process.
Provide bilingual (English/Spanish) communication and support to prospective buyers and homeowners.
Maintain accurate sales pipelines, buyer records, documentation, and reporting systems.
Coordinate with lending partners, title companies, construction teams, program staff, and internal departments to ensure smooth closings.
Support homebuyer education, outreach, and engagement efforts.
Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, employers, and referral partners to increase awareness of RootedHomes opportunities.
Ensure compliance with real estate regulations, fair housing requirements, funding requirements, and RootedHomes policies.
Represent RootedHomes at community events, workshops, and outreach activities.
Support continuous improvement of the homebuyer experience and sales processes.

Required Qualifications

Active Oregon Real Estate Broker License required and must be maintained throughout employment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
Experience in residential real estate sales, affordable housing, lending, housing counseling, or a related field.
Strong understanding of real estate transactions, contracts, timelines, and closing processes.
Ability to explain complex housing concepts in a clear and accessible way.
Excellent relationship-building, communication, and customer service skills.
Experience working with diverse communities and individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple buyers and projects simultaneously.
Commitment to RootedHomes’ mission of expanding equitable access to homeownership.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with affordable housing, Community Land Trusts, first-time homebuyers, or down payment assistance programs.
Experience working with historically underserved communities.
Knowledge of Central Oregon’s housing market.
Experience using CRM, sales tracking, or housing program management systems.
Experience developing community partnerships and outreach strategies.
