Job Title: Health and Wellness Coordinator FLSA Status: Full-Time, Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:
Oversees all Fitness Floor and Personal Training operations, including Get Started programming, DPP, and Y-Fit class instruction. Delivers exceptional customer service to members and the community by creating a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment. Promote community wellness and engagement while upholding all YMCA policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of instructors, scheduling, and coordinating the exercise component of the Y Fit and DPP program, making adjustments to the program to ensure membership conversion ratios reach 50% or greater of class participants.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure accurate follow through with, Y Fit and DPP instructors and participants. Collaborates with Membership department regarding the Y Fit Program.
- Ability to be a substitute instructor or fitness floor attendant as needed.
- Responsible to ensure new members are engaged in the beginner group exercise programs and other appropriate programs compatible to varying fitness levels. Continuing follow-up efforts are necessary to nurture and enhance the comfort level and connectedness of this population to main stream YMCA membership.
- Collaborate with Membership Director and Finance Director to serve as a joint contact for all Corporate/Community Wellness Programs in conjunction with Health and Wellness Director.
- Responsible for orchestration of assigned corporate and community events. Serving in a lead role for events as necessary to develop positive working relationships with other organizations, business and governmental entities.
- Ability to Personal train, responsible for all operations, including hiring, and training of Personal Trainers, and all Personal Training contracts and sales for reassignment to available trainers.
- Coordinate with personal trainers to dictate a personal training client of the month and post it at the beginning of each month.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure accurate follow through with Trainers and their clients and ensure proper data entry and tracking. Collaborates with Membership department regarding Personal Training.
- Responsible for monthly department reports for all necessary departments, turned into the Health and Wellness Director.
- Maintain recruitment for, hiring and training of staff, scheduling, and coordinating scheduling and communication among Fitness Floor department, and fitness staff.
- Responsible for the training and oversight of all Fitness Floor, Beginner programing, and studio cleaning employees, oversight of all exercise equipment to ensure safety and necessary maintenance to keep the machines and equipment working efficiently, order new equipment when necessary.
- Create media for the treadmills to promote upcoming fitness programs in the YMCA while coordinating directly with the Communications Director.
- Create media posters when necessary, alongside the Health & Wellness Director &Communications Director in promoting fitness programming.
- Creates TikTok videos or Reels that highlight fitness programs & a positive gym environment in the YMCA, as well as involving other departments to bring awareness as to where members can reach out for help.
- Be able to assist any of the fitness departments in any additional way necessary.
- Adheres to personal and department goals.
- Recruit and retain necessary volunteers to support department requirements.
- Attend and remain current on all mandatory trainings and staff meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Personal training or Group instructor certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift and move up to 45lb plates and barbells. Must have the ability to walk around the entire Fitness areas, make rounds up and down stairs, and sitting for only 10 minutes at a time maximum.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
