Company Overview

Vermont Oxford Network (VON) is a nonprofit voluntary collaboration of health care professionals at over 1,200 hospitals and organizations worldwide, working together to ensure that every newborn infant and family achieves their fullest potential. VON member hospitals submit data on their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) patients and receive benchmarking reports and analysis to identify ways to improve infant care. In addition, VON provides quality improvement and educational programs designed to aid our members in improving their patients’ outcomes. Summary

VON is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance/HR Specialist to join our small but dynamic team. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience across both finance and human resources functions. The ideal candidate will assist with accounts payable and receivable, financial recordkeeping, and reporting, while also providing backup support for key HR processes such as onboarding, benefits administration, and employee communications. Responsibilities

Manage the accounts payable process, ensuring proper approvals and timely processing of all payment requests
Assist with preparation and documentation for the annual VON financial audit
Maintain HR and finance records in accordance with VON’s Records Retention and Disposal policies
Serve as backup for the bi-weekly payroll process
Support the Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager during the annual billing cycle and ongoing AR functions
Crosstrain on all AR tasks to provide effective backup coverage as needed
Contribute to the development, documentation, and maintenance of HR policies and procedures
Support the Finance/HR Manager in the annual benefits review and enrollment process, and assist with day-to-day benefits administration
Collaborate with the Finance/HR Manager and AR Manager on additional finance, accounting, and HR tasks as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager

Requirements

Undergraduate degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field—or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience in corporate finance, accounting, or human resources
Demonstrated commitment to mission-driven or nonprofit work
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain excellent organizational practices
Proven ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Etc.
Experience with QuickBooks accounting software
Familiarity with benefits and compensation administration is a plus
Experience with HRIS, payroll, or time-tracking systems is a plus
