Overview

Locations: Chicago, cook county, Rockford, Rock Island, Quincy, St. Clair, Dupage, Peoria, Springfield

Compensation: $60 per completed screening

Clinical Assessment Pro, LLC is seeking dedicated, detail-oriented, and compassionate Clinical Assessors to join our growing team of independent contractors. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and evaluations for children, adolescents, adults, and families involved in behavioral health, child welfare, developmental disability, and state-funded service systems.

Clinical Assessors play a critical role in identifying individual needs, evaluating functioning, gathering collateral information, and developing objective recommendations that support service planning and treatment decisions. This position offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through high-quality assessment services.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial, behavioral health, and diagnostic assessments.
Complete clinical interviews with individuals, family members, caregivers, service providers, and collateral contacts.
Review medical, psychiatric, educational, legal, and child welfare records.
Assess mental health symptoms, behavioral functioning, risk factors, protective factors, strengths, and treatment needs.
Develop clinically sound impressions and recommendations based on assessment findings.
Complete specialized assessments as assigned, including Integrated Assessments, CANS, PASRR Level II Evaluations, SMHRF Assessments, and other state-approved evaluation services.
Prepare thorough, accurate, and objective clinical reports within required timelines.
Maintain professional communication with referral sources, providers, and stakeholders.
Utilize electronic documentation systems to complete and submit reports.
Participate in required onboarding, quality assurance reviews, and continuing education activities.
Adhere to HIPAA, confidentiality, and all applicable contractual and regulatory requirements.
Provide crisis assessment and safety recommendations when clinically indicated.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
Active professional licensure in good standing preferred, including:
LCSW
LSW
LCPC
LPC
LMFT
Licensed Psychologist
Other approved behavioral health licenses
Minimum of two years of clinical experience preferred.
Experience conducting behavioral health assessments, evaluations, or clinical interviews.
Strong clinical writing and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

Child Welfare Assessment experience
Integrated Assessment experience
PASRR Level II Assessment experience
CANS Certification
IM+CANS Certification
Forensic Evaluation experience
Crisis Assessment experience
Experience working with children, families, adults, and individuals with serious mental illness
Knowledge of Medicaid and state-funded behavioral health programs
Experience reviewing complex medical, psychiatric, and social service records

Required Skills

Critical thinking and clinical judgment
Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria
Ability to analyze information from multiple sources and formulate objective recommendations

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries

Credentialing and Onboarding Requirements

Selected candidates must successfully complete:

Resume review and approval
Verification of education, licensure, and clinical experience
Background screening requirements
Conflict-of-interest review
Credentialing approval process
Administrative onboarding
Required clinical training and education

Assessors providing SMHRF services must obtain and maintain IM+CANS certification prior to assignment.

Ongoing Requirements

Clinical Assessors must:

Maintain active licensure and certifications.
Complete assessments and documentation within required timelines.
Remain compliant with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
Participate in required quality assurance activities.
Complete ongoing training and continuing education requirements.
Report any changes in licensure, certification, or professional standing immediately.
